Interstate Traveling

Las Cruces, New Mexico (pop. 111,385)

Are only purpose for stopping in Las Cruces was to sleep.  The town had three Walmart Bed and Breakfast Inns to choose from.  The first one on the east side of town was packed.  The parking lot had not one level spot in it I doubt.  We ate lunch and got out from there.  I didn’t even bother with the one in the center of town.  I could only imagine considering the looks of the neighborhood.  But just like Goldilocks, the third one on the west side of town was ‘just right’.  We had a pleasant afternoon and night off to the side by shipping containers again.  In the morning I topped off the tank for diesel was cheaper here ($4.55) than anywhere else on down the highway.

Our route from now on would be Interstate 10 traveling pretty much all the way to Yuma, Arizona.

It will be fairly easy driving with the occasional stop for the Border Patrol.

We will have billboards advertising touristy shops all along most of the way.
Lots of big rigs trucks too.  They and everyone else can just go around us with ease.

The first “Thing” billboard showed itself 171 miles away from where it lies.

We stopped to see it four years ago.  I have no plan to stop there again unless if to spend the night around back behind the trading post.  If you want to see the Thing click here HERE

I'll skip the Thing. Enjoy your fast miles across the desert. So they entertain you with billboards! Groan.

I think that you're wrong that it is an alien, but since I haven't see it with my own two eyes, perhaps I don't know what I'm talking about. It has happened before.

Since you have been permanently on the road is there any one place you consider home?
