Make a Plan Then Deviate From It

For our travels in 2023 I had an idea, a plan, to wind up in a place we have never been before.  This would mean that when we left Why, Arizona we would travel directly north towards Phoenix.  Typically when we start out from our winter hibernation that would be in March sometime.  Well now here we are looking at the fourth week of January and we are wanting to be on the move again already.  And now it looks like it won’t be north to Phoenix for the first leg of our 2023 journey.  So much for ‘the plan’.  In fact, I will try to have no plan.  Just take each day as it comes.  Okay, there is a hint of a plan: to retrace part of a route Sinbad and I did nine years ago.  And who knows, we may still wind up in that place I/we have never been to before.

That’s if we live through this.

What is a hard freeze?  Is a soft freeze any better?

Sounds like when I had to leave my faucet dripping all night so the pipes wouldn't freeze. But other people (in Asheville) had many pipes freeze. The option is to blow them dry. Hard or soft, it gets into everything! It's 27 here this morning, and I'm very grateful for my space heater.

I had no idea Arizona could get that cold! 🥶

Why is a great name for a town. I wonder if it is an explanation or a question.

Soft freeze means temperatures will reach 32 - freezing. Hard freeze means they'll get below freezing and can damage plants. Very Big Deal if you're a farmer.

I'm amazed you stayed there as long as you did. Hit the road and expect adventure. A plan is just that, a plan. Now...for the GOOD stuff! Over the hill and around the corner. Beside, a moving target is harder to hit. Just don't go South!

I was surprised to see that this morning's comment didn't take. I like the idea of simply being adaptable enough to know what it's time to make new plans. I would not be a big fan of quietly freezing in the desert.

I think it's been covered but a soft frost will damage plants. They'll look bedragged, but they'll grow back. A hard frost will kill plants. It's prolonged and way more damaging. That is how I understand it, anyway. But know that I am no expert.

Hard v.s. soft Freeze...D.Q. has soft freeze ice cream cones..
I've never liked D.Q.'s burgers or fries even after maybe 60 years?..They've never gotten tasty no matter where they are located. At least all the restaurants have consistent quality , or lack of...
I had to hit a McDonalds last week, as I needed food..Yuck, I'm thinking D.Q. was better than that. I'll just cook my own burgers...Sorry, too much info.....
